InveStore Functions Not Allowed

We have seen recently that certain functions are no longer allowed by the operating system if InveStore has not been installed as a service. Some of the functions affected are:

Sharing the drive letter

The InveStore backup program

Certain VIM API function calls (mount, unmount, format, etc)

This is occurring due to the ongoing security changes being made in the Windows operating system that are affecting how certain processes are authenticated. Installing InveStore as a service allows it to be properly authenticated in the operating system thereby giving the program the necessary permissions to execute its various functions.

Please note that you do not have to run the InveStore service as an Automatic service. Install InveStore as a service and then set it to Manual. This will allow you to control InveStore as an application, while permitting InveStore to be properly authenticated in the operating system as a service.
